IP-Theft Incident Update
This update relates to our initial statement addressing the recent infringement incidents involving the Chinese company Tuopu Mao (TPM, doing business as ‘Topological Miao’ and ‘TopMeow & Co’) in Mainland China.
It came to our attention that TPM posted a design diagram of Pink Panda on their website, claiming they were “open-sourcing” the design “to foster progress within the industry” (honestly, we have no idea what that means).
The posted diagram, however, is identical to the June 10 Pink Panda diagram we obtained with respect to the two details at issue. That only confirms the authenticity of the intel we gathered and supports our conclusions.
A quick comparison with the “fraudulent pieces” Company H later supplied shows that the non-infringing pieces Company H provided were genuine. This further supports our finding that Company H intentionally altered the infringing pieces it had been involved with to evade liability. It would otherwise be inexplicable why Company H modified those particular pieces.
In short, what TPM posted only corroborates the facts set out in our statement. We will not link to their website and give them free advertising.
It should be noted that, in their public posting responding to our statement, TPM has neither admitted nor denied the facts we allege.
To a creator, few things are more humiliating than being accused of plagiarism. If TPM were truly innocent, it is hard to imagine their first response would not be a strong denial. Honest parties shouldn’t feel pressured by such an accusation.
Meanwhile, TPM’s quick public posting makes it clear they are following our statement. We therefore expect them to respond formally about their conduct concerning Remember the Flowers and Zenless Zone Zero.
