Please note that these orders are sold as-is and are not eligible for returns or refunds based on quality. However, our 7-day return policy still applies, allowing you to return the plush if you are dissatisfied within 7 days of delivery.
Why are we Selling Defective Products?
Recently, we experienced a major breach of contract with a manufacturer which has significantly disrupted our fulfillment schedule and future planned releases, resulting in financial pressure on our team. Additionally, we need funds for upcoming litigation against this manufacturer.
To address our immediate financial needs, we're clearing out some Amicus Plush with minor defects at a discounted price, while most of our other plushes are out of stock as we transition to our 3rd generation. We currently have 201 Amicus Plush with defects, 110 of which meet our standards for this sale. The remainder are too flawed for customer distribution, examples of which we posted on our backstage site for those interested. See below for examples of expected minor defects.
Our Quality Inspection Standards
Upon their arrival at our warehouse, each Amicus Plush was inspected—a precaution stemming from noted declines in production quality. At that time, we identified 201 defective plushies. For this special sale, we conducted a second inspection of these defective items and found 110 suitable for sale. The photos below illustrate the details of the defects, but the plush you receive will likely be less flawed than those shown, as we intentionally photographed those with more obvious defects. Defects are confined to the plush body itself; the cape and accessories are unaffected.
U.S. Sales Only
We limit sales to U.S. customers to ensure they fully understand the product's condition and are satisfied with a defective item. Past experiences have shown that international customers may not fully comprehend our English articles and overlook important details. Additionally, international returns are costly.
Amicus 2.0 is Coming
While this may be your last chance to purchase the original Amicus Plush, we want to remind you of the upcoming release of Amicus 2.0. This is not the last chance to get an Amicus Plush. We've scheduled a photo trip for May 4th - 6th to showcase the new version, though it will be some time before it's available due to ongoing production resolutions.
Defect Examples
The defective Amicus Plush may exhibit up to four types of defects, described below. We've selected severe examples for illustration; the plush you receive will likely exhibit milder issues.
Eye Misalignment
- One eye may be skewed or positioned at a different height than the other.
Eye-Muzzle Proximity
- An eye may be too close to the muzzle-face boundary.
Crooked Nose
- The nose may not align with the center line of the muzzle or the "philtrum".
Belly Button Misalignment
- The belly button may not be centered on the torso.
Multiple Defects
- Some plushes may have multiple defects.
